Hi Nicole – I’ve enjoyed reading several of the articles on your site. I tried to send a direct email but your Blackberry was having trouble receiving it. It appears you have somewhat commercialized your site as I see some ads from IMG and others. We have created the first online Parent Mental Trainer that’s designed to teach parents ideal roles, how to control emotions when on the sidelines, and how to improve the parent-child relationship during the often stressful years of youth sports. Our program was written by the Institute for the Study of Youth Sports at Michigan State University, so the content is outstanding. We transformed it into Flash animations so as to be more palatable to busy parents. If you have interest in talking further about it, I’d be happy to give you free access so you can review it.
Thanks for the positive influence you are in the much-needed world of youth sport parenting! -Dr.Bob
I have been trying to reach you via email since 2 days. But the mail delivery keeps failing. The mail ID I used is nicole@thetennismom.com. Is there another mail ID that I could use to reach you?
Thanks for this comment! I appreciate it and all the info you are sharing with us. Here’s where I can help! I spent more than a decade working in motorsports (F1, IndyCar, NASCAR) and am definitely a specialist in that area! Got questions, I have answers! Email me at nicole (at) thetennismom (dot com)!
I just now found your website and instantly found it to be helpful. Thanks! I look forward to more of your articles.
If I were to describe the type of Tennis parent I am I would call myself “The Historian”. I say that because I have been trying to compile general data regarding my son’s tennis matches. The listing of tournaments can be found at the following web site.
My son James, now 12, has been playing in several tournaments in Texas since the age of 8.
Originally I was hoping he would play the popular sports such as baseball, football, basketball. But he chose a sport I know little about. And as he has grown older and his skills more complex I have found myself needing to learn as much as I can to help him (and understand what his coaches are talking about). In addition to tennis he is even more passionate about auto racing (especially NASCAR). So I have had to learn more about that too!
